Job Purpose & Scope

To manage all marketing, brand and communication activities for Prudential Zambia. Reporting to Chief Operating Officer. The role requires a dynamic, creative marketing professional to lead the development and implementation of brand and product marketing to support the development of new business. The Job holder will be expected to work across the entire communications and marketing brief covering branding, advertising, marketing campaigns, media relations, digital and events.

Through a business partnership approach, the role will provide best practice, strategic marketing, communications and CSR support to the business, helping the company to execute against its business objectives.

Principal Accountabilities:

Marketing

  • To oversee market research and manage the brand building for Prudential within Zambia
  •  To develop and implement the strategy for targeting customers, positioning the business and products and support the sales/agency force
  • To develop and implement cross-channel marketing campaigns driving awareness of the Prudential brand among consumers in Zambia and support specific product launches
  • To undertake measurement and evaluation of marketing campaigns/channels and their effectiveness through lead generation, audience growth, and reach.
  •  Act as a brand custodian within local business, and regional office as well as the local point of all brand issues
  • To ensure all corporate and agency events are managed to a high standard
  •  To develop and manage ATL and BTL activities
  • Manage growth, content and commentary on all online digital platforms ie Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, You tube, LinkedIn & website

Communications 

  • Coordinate campaigns and promotions to ensure that the in-country communications calendar is delivered in time and in accordance with the budget
  • To take personal responsibility for the quality, accuracy and completeness of all content/copy/materials published internally and externally on approved media channels
  • Ensure swift and timely delivery of communications to target audiences
  • Write and publish relevant material for Zambia i.e annual newsletter and other channels
  • Manage Internal branding and support all departments with branded materials
  • Work with HR and act as a custodian of engagement activities within the team and the business.

Business Management 

  • Oversee all local marketing production activity of customer facing material
  • Presentation of all country-based marketing plans and implementation schedules
  • Effective cost management and control of functional budget
  • Build and manage strong working links with external partners

Corporate Social Responsibility 

  • Supervise, directs and control the social responsibility activities within the organization
  • Creates awareness of CSR activities of the company externally & internally (stakeholders, shareholders contractors & suppliers, public awareness. Etc)
  • Encourage employees to participate in CSR initiatives.
  • Using internal communication to reinforce the company’s social responsibility policies
  • Reaching out to the public via PR and marketing to deliver the message of the company’s commitment to social responsibility

 

Core Competences Required:
  • Experience in liaising with creative / advertising agencies
  • Experience in managing media relations
  • Strong communications capabilities
  • People management skills
  • Result oriented
  • Customer oriented – detailed understanding of buyer behavior which delivers marketing solutions
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Degree in Marketing, Public relations or any relevant discipline
  • MBA (Marketing or Communications) may be an added advantage.
  • Experienced marketing manager, preferably with consumer facing industry experience
  • Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience
