Job Purpose & Scope |
The Job holder will be responsible for supporting the underwriting of new business and general administration of premiums for bank collections under the supervision of responsible Deputy Managers. |
Principal Accountabilities: |
- Screening & underwriting of Proposals – It is a key responsibility to meticulously screen and underwrite business both from a financial and medical underwriting perspective.
- Capturing of Business – It is a key responsibility of the Job Holder to capture underwritten into the System.
- RTB management: providing feedback and analysis to agency for returned proposals;
- Client Communication: liaising with Customer Service for client onboarding and policy servicing calls;
- Preparation of New Business Lodgings – It is a key output of this role to compile and prepare New Business Lodgings within the stipulated timelines.
- Printing of Policy Acceptance Letters– Ensuring that Policy Acceptance Letters are promptly & proficiently printed & dispatched to the clients.
- Records Management & Filing – The Job holder will be expected to create files, file and ensure that the files are kept in an orderly manner for future reference and use.
- Premium Administration: Assisting in ensuring the efficient collection of bank premium collections; ensuring correct premium mandates are sent to bank; Reconciliations of bank premium collections; attending to agency premium related queries; Assisting in ensuring correct commission is paid to agents and responding to agency commission related queries.
- Reporting – The job holder will be expected to assist the Deputy Manager in preparing and timely delivery of all the reports as required.
- Expected to attend to any other duties assigned to you from time to time.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills |
- Minimum of Advanced Insurance Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Insurance
- Experience in Individual Life underwriting and/or policy administration.
- Knowledge of Reinsurance Treaties
- Computer Literate
- Individual Life Products knowledge
- Underwriting principles & guidelines
- Knowledge of use of Ms Excel
- Basic Knowledge in the Medical Field & advancements in clinical medicine
- Insurance Underwriting and Policy administration Skills
