Job Purpose & Scope

The job holder will directly report to the Claims Deputy Manager & will be responsible for ensuring that Claims administration are effectively & efficiently administered from all aspects including delivery, processing, payment of claims and turnaround time.  The Job holder will be responsible for the processing claims and ensuring that they are paid within the stipulated turnaround time. The job holder should ensure that they are on track with the claims they are processes from the point of processing to the point of payment.

Principal Accountabilities:
  1. Claims Underwriting and processing – To ensure efficient and effective underwriting and processing of fully documented claims as and when lodged by our clients. This involves all types of claims including death claims. The job holder should ensure that proper documentation and investigations are made to ensure that death claims are not delayed.
  2. Ensuring that claims are requisitioned and entered in Pastel and submitted to finance within 4 working days.
  3. Claims Payments – To ensure that claims are promptly processed and paid by Finance bearing in mind the stipulated turnaround time. This will also include making follow ups with finance to ensure that payments are done on time..
  4. Ensuring that claims paid are updated in Aldem as and when they are paid. Reporting- Preparation of Claims reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  5. Ensuring that claims files are filed within Seven (7) working days from the date of payment.
  6. Ensuring that Repudiation letters are dispatched to clients within seven days.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Advanced Diploma in any business field
  • 2 years post qualifying work experience

  • Claims Administration and Customer Services principals & guidelines
